This beginners yoga course is designed to improve the mental and physical health and well-being for all students and aims to ease you gently and safely into a regular yoga practice. A variety of yoga styles and practices are introduced, including modifications to suit different bodies and abilities. Although most of the course focuses on physical (asana) practice, there is also a strong emphasis on breathing (pranayama) and relaxation too, with options and modifications to suit different abilities. The group is small so that I can give people individual attention and the class size is not overwhelming.

The beginners course is either 6 or 7 weeks long depending on term dates, on an ongoing basis, so please get in touch.

This is a basic, technique focused class great for consolidating basics, and learning how to modify to suit your body. It’s where beginners move up to, good if you’re returning after injury, or after a break in practice. Practice includes modifications, options, slightly slower practice, less flow, but gives a good range of basic, foundational practice to build from.

Classes with Shiv

Hatha Yoga

Fridays 7.30pm-8.30pm

This class breaks down the mystical and ancient Hatha Yoga into something that can be grasped in our generation. So we will go the well established route of Asana, Pranayama, Mudra, Bandha, Dharana and beyond.

Starting with the Asana training, underpinned by the principle to Train without Strain, is what we will do to eliminate negative tendencies like panic that have been scratched into your nervous system and to develop your positive, heroic qualities. You can begin to feel your natural energy which is totally clear and blissful. Then we will move in the subtler realms of consciousness through the more esoteric practices like Pranayama.

Cost: £10 per class (1st Session is free. If you are enthusiastic and money is an issue PLEASE GET IN TOUCH FOR CONCESSIONS!)

Details and booking: Please contact Shiv by email pranayamawithshiv@gmail.com or on 07305002389 – For booking, preferably WhatsApp Shiv, but email and insta DM is also fine. Find out more about Shiv here.
